JUST FOR GIRLS

FOR GIRLS 10-16 YRS
The KKZ girls-only training camp is open to experienced female paddlers from all clubs between the ages of 10 and 16. Girls joining the camp are expected to have already competed in at least 3 flatwater competitions.
The residential camp will be held in Most na Soči and Lig. It will provide the opportunity to improve flatwater kayak technique and racing skills in a girl-friendly environment.
The girls will be housed in tents in the mountain town of Kostanjevica. Alongside a full training program (of 2-3 sessions per day), there will be plenty of opportunities to make new friends, try other watersports, and enjoy the surrounding area.
On Saturday the 19th of August, after the camp’s conclusion, the girls will have the opportunity to compete in the National Marathon Championships in Bohinj.
This camp is a new initiative of KKZ’s Paddle PWR-Girl PWR program which was awarded the EU’s 2022 #BeEqual sports award.

LOCATION
The training camp will be held at campsite Blasge directly on the Ossiacher See – nearby the village of Bodensdorf. Tents will be provided. Participants are required to bring their own towels and bedding including sleeping mat/air mattress.
All meals will be provided. A vegetarian option is available.
ARRIVALS
Arrival at the Ossiacher See will be on Monday the 14th of August at 09:00. Participants can be picked up by us from Most na Soči (around 06:30) or arrive directly at the campsite. An additional pick up in Bohinj may be added if required.
Departure from the campsite will be on Saturday the 19th of August at 06:00 when we will transfer to Bohinj for the competition. Girls not competing on the 19th can be picked up in Austria on the evening of the 18th or morning of the 19th. Alternatively they can travel with us to Bohinj.
EQUIPMENT
Kayak Klub Zlatorog will supply kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets for KKZ members attending the camp. All girls from other clubs are required to bring their own paddles and lifejackets. Girls over the age of 12 are required to bring their own boats.
FEES
The 5-day/5 night camp costs €350 for KKZ members, and €380 for non-members (for Slovenian residents). This includes all meals and accommodation in tents. A deposit of 50% is due by the 1st of August, with the remainder by the 13th of August.
Places in the camp are limited to a total of 22 girls (with a minimum number of 10). To reserve a place for your child, please REGISTER NOW. Registration closes on the 20th of July.
