PaddlePWR-GirlPWR (PPGP) empowers girls through sport, whilst simultaneously addressing gender inequality in the Olympic sport of sprint kayaking.
The grassroots program focuses on attracting and retaining girls in sport by implementing innovative measures which create a fun, safe, girl-friendly sporting environment in which girls thrive.
PPGP provides a central unified framework which is implemented across the majority of KKZ programs. This framework can be replicated by other sporting organisations and ensures female athletes have:
PPGP was put into place with the club’s establishment in 2022. It’s success saw KKZ become the first kayak club in Slovenia with more female competitive athletes than male within a year and significantly increased the number of girls competing in the Slovenian inter-club competition league.
