Our winter kids multi-sport program introduces children to a wide variety of sports in a fun environment. The program focuses on developing teamwork, strength, fitness and general physical literacy.
The sessions are held in English and typically include a mix of traditional sports and invented ones. Sports can include, among others:
Children do not need to be part of a kayaking program to join this program, they are welcome to train with us just for the winter months.
All sports equipment is provided, but children should always bring clothing and shoes suitable for indoor and outdoor activities, and a water bottle. All sessions start and finish at the KKZ clubhouse however when the weather is good sessions may be held outdoors.
This program doesn’t have a compulsory attendance requirement, however once registered for the program children need to be signed in for the session before 12:00 on the day of the session.
FRIDAY 14:30-15:30
Strength training forms an integral part of our competition programs. In the Friday session children aged 9-13 yrs learn how to lift weights with good form and technique under strict supervision. They are introduced to exercises for all important muscle groups, and also work on developing good posture and flexibility.
Children who are not part of the competition team can join this program just for the winter, however weekly attendance is compulsory and they must commit to attending training for at least two months.
Sessions are held in English in the KKZ gym.
